Conclusion

The writer think the small thing that we were use it can change and reduce the global warming if we didn’t use it a lot. Like if we reduce the consumption of water, electricity and, reducing the amount of traveling by air and use the bicycle and busses instead of cars.

And he said we should do something to face this problem, and he said the one who should do this is the government should do not the people. And he said we should go to some organization to help the people to convince the government.

I agree with him when he said the small things can change a lot and help to reduce the global warming. But in the same time I disagree when he said the we should give all the work to the government because I think people are also responsible about the global warming not just the government.

One Planet Living

If everyone lived like an average North American we would need 5 planets. If everyone lived like an average European we would need 3 planets. If everyone lived like an average Emirati we would need 10 planets.

Our global footprint grew by 60%between 1961 and 2003. It is now 20% above the planets biological capacity to support life on earth.

The WWF has developed an initiative called one planet living. It has 10 guiding principles.

1- Zero Carbon: because of the human and his activity the atmosphere contain a lot of CO2

2- Zero Waste: When human waste a lot of products this may cause a huge problem like waste for wastes valuable resources.

3- Sustainable Transport: When the people travel by cars or plane he made an air and noise pollution

4- Local and Sustainable Materials: From using Destructive resources we damage a lot the environment.

5- Local and Sustainable Food: the food we get it from the agriculture and had bad quality may cause lot problems and harms local ecosystems.

6- Sustainable Water: Because of increasing of population the demand of fresh water were increased but the there are not enough freshwater.

7- Natural Habitats and Wildlife: Using a lot of biodiversity cause a lack of natural recourse.

8- Culture and heritage: As a result of globalization, local culture and heritage is being lost.

9- Equity and Fair-trade: A lot of people live under the line of poverty and they can’t have their basic needs.

10- Health and Happiness: A lot of people think they live in healthy and life full of happiness

I think the first one is the most difficult one because I think it hard to have a city that contains 0 CO2.

The three goals of the One Planet living programme here are:

1- Zero Carbon

2- Health and Happiness

3- Culture and Heritage

Would you like to live in (Masdar City)?

Living in Masdar City it’s a dream for everybody who care and concert about the environment and try to solve the global warming problem.

I like to live in Madar city because this city will be zero pollution and will not contain any carbon dioxide, and this environment will be very good for someone to raise his children in healthy environment. Also this city will be quite because there no cars in the city and this thing will help me and a lot of to be relaxed and not stressed. Because the city will not have cars the only way to transport is to walk or ride a bicycle and this will help is more to be healthier.

I think I would like to live in city make ma healthier and don’t have a lot of nose that make me angry and stressful.

Abu Dhabi Cool City?

I think Abu Dhabi didn’t become a cool city yet because it still causes pollution to environment, like they burn the trash instead of recycle it. And they didn’t try to reduce the carbon footprint. However I think the city try their best to be a cool city.

Now the city try build new building that allow the sun to enter the building more than the regular buildings so this will decrease using the electricity light in the morning, and this thing will reduce the consumption of using the electricity and that will reduce using gases and fuel to generate the electricity.

And another way that Abu Dhabi try to be a cool city by build city that recycle the water, and they will use it again like in agricultures so this thing will reduce the consumption of water.

I think the people in Abu Dhabi start aware about this problem and try to solve it and avoid the problem in the future. And Abu Dhabi tries to be a cool city.

Carbon Footprint

Carbon Footprint is the way to measure the human activity impact to the environment and how our activities produce the gases like CO2 in the Planet. I measured my carbon footprint and it showed that I need 2.95 Planets for my activities. And here in this essay I will write about this problem and how we should solve it and how to avoid it in the future.

We have a lot of problems and reasons that caused the increasing amount of CO2 in the environment. A lot of people here in the planet don’t have the knowledge of the danger that we face it, so maybe they do small things that help to increase the problem like using the old type of light that need more amount of electricity and make produce heat and sometimes they don’t switch off the light when the out so it will consume more electricity. Another thing is we don’t recycle the trash and they burn a lot of these trash so this also will help the CO2 to increase.

There a lot of solutions for this problem like we should recycle the products this will help to reduce the CO2, also in the sometime it will help the economy. Second one is we should know how to consume the electricity because the electricity generated by using gases and fuel. The last thing is we should reduce the amount of using the vehicles and try to walk or use bicycle when we go to near place and it will help us to be healthier in the same time when we try to reduce the CO2.

USA Cool Cities

1. Seattle: They reduced global warming pollution by more than 60 percent by constructing green buildings and operating alternative fuel vehicles.

2. Washington DC: DC has replaced 414 of its polluting diesel buses with buses that burn natural gases.

3. Houston: convert a substantial portion of the city of fleet of cars and trucks.

4. Marion County/Florida: they use gas-electric hybrid vehicles.

5. The city of Scottsdale: has introduced Arizona’s first green building program which helps builders and home owners learn about how to integrate energy efficiency and water saving.

6. Salt Lake City: they changed 861 traffic lights to LED light signals.

7. Colorado: is working to produce 50 percent of the city electricity with renewable energy by 2017.

8. Charlotte: they switched from a gas only Ford Taurus to a hybrid Toyota Prius or Honda Civic and that would save city taxpayers approximately $800-1200 per vehicle including over $400 in annual fuel cost.

9. Twin Falls/ Idaho: Reduce energy cost and cut pollution by increasing the energy efficiency of its 11 schools.

10. St. Paul: they use a system that uses heat drawn from a biomass-fired power plant.

What Abu Dhabi should do to make people aware of Global Warming

There are a lot of steps we should to aware people about the global warming like:
1- Make some events talk about this problem
2- Create laws that make the companies put some filters in their smokestack
3- Put some programs in TV, radio and newspaper to aware people
4- Try to recycle the trashes

And the people who live in the Abu Dhabi should something like:
1- People should teach their children about the global warming
2- The people try to go some places in bicycle if it was not far away

So we should try to reduce and solve this problem so fast as we can.

AN Inconveniet Truth

The Summary

Eye on Lebanon

Lebanon is Arab country located in the Middle East. It's surrounded by five ciountries Turkey, Syria, Jordan, Israel and Cyprus. It was called in bible the city of milk and honey. The most important city in this country is Beirut and some people called the city the Paaris of East.

In 1943 Lebanon gained independece from France. in the same
time, Christians lebanese held the balance of power and the Muslims had little in the running of thier country. In 1975 the tensions between the Christians and Muslims bolid over when a member of radical Christian group attacked and killed a bus full of Palestinians in Beirut. After that the revenge killing and violance began to spiral out of countrol all over the country. Then in 1982 the Isreali army attacked and invaded Beirut to remove the "PLO" Palilestinian Liberation Organisation because the organiastion was launched attacks against targets in Israel. the civil war in Lebanon ended in 1989 by lebanese leaders by an equal offring a balance betweem Muslims and Christian in a new lebanese parliament.

After that the country tried to recoverd from that war. So now Beirut became one of the top cities in the world for the number of car, the city have a great night life and the most important thing Beirut become great city for tourist. However the country have some problems like the pliotion is high and the pills like phone and electricity are expensive.

Crowds flock to monkey ‘wedding’

Last Thursday in a village called Ghanteswara, about 3000 Indian villagers attended a monkey wedding. The bride was dressed in long sari like a human bride. And the groom was taken by procession to the temple with hundred of onlookers, accompanied by loud music and fireworks. The people who came to the wedding gave the couple some gifts even they gave them gold necklace. Now the couple be released and now they live in the temple where the marriage took place.

In my opinion this is silly thing to have a big wedding for the monkeys. Especially if the villager were poor. And I think it’s better if they did a group wedding for the single villager.
